Lay Ministries

Holy Family Parish offers a number of ways to become active in parish ministry.  Please contact the parish office at 732-264-1484 to volunteer, if you need assistance, or if you would like more information on any of the following ministries:

Adult men and women assist our parish priests with funerals (morning hours).

Women 18 and older are invited to join this ministry which meets the fourth Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. in Memorial Hall (Sept. through June).

Both boys and girls of Holy Family Parish, who are entering third grade, assist the priest as altar servers at the celebration of parish liturgies. Please contact Rev. Francis Cheruparanpil, VC, at the parish office if your child is interested in becoming involved in the Altar Server Ministry.

Some members of our parish choir also serve as Cantors at Liturgy. They lead the congregation in song and enrich our time of worship. If you would like to become involved in this Ministry of Cantoring, please contact Justin Ryan, Music Director/Organist, at the Parish Office to arrange for an audition.

Parishioners are welcome to participate in our Parish Choir. Practice is held each Wednesday evening at 7:30 PM in the Choir Loft.. The Choir sings at the 11:00 AM Liturgy on Sundays. They enhance the beauty of our parish celebrations. Please contact Justin Ryan, Music Director/Organist, in care of the Parish Office at 732-264-1484 if you are interested in joining the Choir.

Meets with family members in preparation for their loved one's funeral Mass. Provides guidance to family in choosing readings, music, and notating special memories of their loved ones.

Commit to keeping our Lord company in the Blessed Sacrament for one hour between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon every Wednesday.

A number of our parishioners assist the clergy by serving as Eucharistic Ministers. They help to distribute the Eucharist during the Liturgies. Some also assist in bringing the Eucharist to the homebound. Please contact the parish office at 732-264-1484 for additional information or to volunteer.

Adults 55+ gather bi-weekly for fellowship, trips, and various activities.

Volunteers take the Eucharist on a weekly basis to our parishioners who are no longer able to attend Mass.

Volunteer groups alternate every other Monday taking the Eucharist to our Catholic brothers and sisters in Bayshore Hospital.

Parishioners participate more fully in the Liturgy by proclaiming God's Word through the Scripture readings at Liturgy. Please contact the parish office at 732-264-1484 if you would like to volunteer for this Ministry. Training is provided.

The Pew Cleaning Ministry sanitizes/cleans the pews following daily and weekly Masses as well as assists in cleaning and sanitizing the church following the sacraments. Please email the parish office at hfrccubnj@aol.com if you would like to become a part of this ministry.

Volunteers assist in teaching our parish children the faith as teachers and assistants.

Volunteers assist in the food pantry, thrift shop, make calls to those who need assistance, and deliver food. (Please call 732-264-8132 if you or someone you know is in need of assistance.)

A group of Eucharistic Ministers also serve by ministering to those confined to a Nursing home. Twice a month our Tarcisius Ministers distribute the Eucharist to these people. Please contact the parish office at 732-264-1484 for more information or to volunteer. Training will be provided.
